0608131310Rained caused some events to be moved but overall, the experience was still enjoyable at the 34th annual Bell Tower Festival.

As people lined the streets for the annual celebrations parade, they enjoyed watching the Isiserettes perform along with the Greene County Middle and High School marching bands, various antique tractors and the world’s largest Volkswagen Beetle made an appearance.

Shortly after the parade, rain played a factor in forcing all the plaza stage events indoors at the Greene County Community Center including Joseph Hall as Elvis Presley.

Another highlight of the celebration was honoring this year’s recipient of the Tower of Fame award which is Dr. John Faaborg.  He talks about having his name alongside other people who have made worldly contributions.

“Well I was very excited and very honored.  Jefferson’s a neat town and if you look at that list of people, they are people that have made the world a better place and it’s really neat to be on that list.”

The festival prevailed despite the rainy conditions and the public still enjoyed another festival with plenty of entertainment to go around.
