The Greene County chapter of Peoples Animal Welfare Society raised $3,091 from its garage sale earlier this month.

Past President and board member of PAWS, Adrienne Smith says all the funds goes back to the animals at the Greene County Humane Society building.  She states that they use donated funds for feeding and health care of the sheltered animals and that maintenance of the facility they are kept in.

Smith wants to thank all those who were involved in the annual fundraiser.

“The donations they gave us and the volunteers that came out and put in some many hours working hard, pricing the things, getting stuff out of boxes, cleaning up, all of that.  Oh we can’t do that without the public.”

The non-profit organization is located on West Russell Street by the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Jefferson.
