The Perry Police Department warns all area business owners of a check scam targeting several area merchants.

According to police an individual has been writing checks in Perry on a bogus account.  All information on the checks are correct, with the exception of the account number which doesn’t exist.

The woman does not have a valid Iowa ID.  The checks are from Bank of America under the name Coleton and Beth Buck from Madrid.  Full check information can be found online at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.

All residents are advise to not accept any checks from this person on this account.  Anyone who has received such a check is asked to stop by the police station to open a file.
