The 2nd ranked Winterset softball team pounded out 20 hits Monday night in defeating the Perry Jayettes 15-2 at the PAC.  The loss snapped a 3 game winning streak for Perry.  Senior shortstop Taylor Benshaaf set the tone smacking a solo home run on the third pitch of the night.  Benshaaf connected for a pair of solo home runs along with a double and triple.  Cleanup batter Savannah Marker finished with 4 RBI’s including a 2-run HR.   Perry hit the ball solid all night finishing with 7 hits off senior Karli Olson.  Alexa Gilmore had 2 hits including her first home run of the season, a solo shot in the second.  Katelyn Whelchel added a double and Kylie Brandt a sacrifice fly.  Perry will host Carroll Wednesday night in PGSA night at the ball park.  All Perry Girls Softball Association players are invited to wear their uniforms and be admitted free and allowed to run the bases and work with the varsity players on the field during pregame warmups. Shawn Kenney will have the call on KDLS Wednesday night beginning at 7:15 with the Perry HyVee pregame show.
