The Perry Jayettes scored twice in the bottom of the 6th inning to knock off Carroll 4-3 in a Raccoon River Conference softball matchup.  Perry trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the 6th inning when Emma Olenjzack’s ground ball went underneath Britt Bauman’s legs and scored 2 runs to give Perry a 4-3 lead.  Olenjzack made the lead hold, throwing her best game of the season.  She went 7 innings, allowed 5 hits and struck out a season high 9 Tiger batters.  Victoria Hegstrom made a tremendous running catch in centerfield in the 7th inning to preserve the Jayette win.  Carroll right fielder Sarah Klocke made two terrific catches for the Tigers.  Katie England delivered an RBI single for the Jayettes as well.  It was Perry Girls Softball Association night as youth softball players were allowed on the field during pregame warmups and ran on to the field with the starters and stood on the field next to their favoriot Jayette during the national anthem.

Perry will be back at the PAC tonight hosting Boone.  Varsity will start at 7:30.  Shawn Kenney will have the call of Perry baseball and Boone on KDLS at 7:15 with the Perry HyVee pregame show.
