Greene County takes records of 14-4 overall and 8-1 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play into a doubleheader in Monroe vs. PCM later today. The Rams won at home in Jefferson last night 2-0 over non-conference opponent Manson-Northwest Webster on the strength of pitching and defense. The Rams scored both runs in the fourth inning as sophomores Emma Saddoris and Tressa Rasmussen drove in runs. Greene County had seven hits off losing pitcher Alli Miller with two of the hits by Saddoris. She was the only Rams with more than one hit and all the hits were singles. Sophomore Marissa Promes was the winning pitcher as she allowed five hits and no walks, while striking out four batters. The Cougars fell to 2-15 on the season.

The twin bill in Monroe will be broadcast on KG98 starting at 5:15 p.m. with pregame and the first pitch at 5:30 p.m.
