The Perry Jayettes swept the season series from Carroll Friday night knocking off the Tigers 4-2 in 8 innings. Perry has now won 2 games in a row pushing their season win total to 11 games. Katelyn Whelchel and Julie Dew started the 2 run 8th with singles and Katie Englund laid down a sacrifice to push the runners to second and third with two outs. Senior Alexa Gilmore followed with a 2-run double to the opposite field scoring the go-ahead runs to give Perry the late inning victory. The Jayettes grabbed an early lead with 2 in the second on an Emma Olenjzack 2-run single. Olenjzack picked up the win inside the circle, throwing 8 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned, 3 walks and 5 strike outs. Perry improves to 11-19 on the season and will travel to Carlisle Saturday for a make up game with the 4th ranked Wildcats. JV will start at 11 and varsity will follow at 1:00. Perry closes out the regular season Tuesday with a trip to second ranked DCG. The Regional opener is slated for Thursday at Boone.
