Friday, July 5th
A deputy responded to a report of cattle on the roadway at 140th Street and F Avenue. The owner of the cattle was located and the calves were returned to the pasture.
A deputy was advised of a stray calf along the roadway at R Avenue and just north of 305th Street. The deputy returned the calf back into the pasture.
A deputy was dispatched to Grand Junction for the report of a pit bull dog following and scaring a youth riding her bicycle. The owner of the dog was advised of the situation and that the dog needs to be penned or on leash at all times.
A deputy was advised of a family dispute at a residence in Rippey. The deputy spoke with both parties involved and a resolution was reached.
A deputy was unable to locate a reported careless and erratic driver on 220th Street east of Jefferson.
The Sheriff assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a harassment call in Jefferson.
A deputy was advised of a Scranton resident that is receiving many harassing text messages from an unknown number. The deputy informed the resident that it would take a subpoena to trace the caller. The resident did not wish to take any further action at this time.
A deputy was dispatched to Grand Junction for the report of an elderly lady that was lost and needed assistance in getting directions back to Des Moines.
Saturday, July 6th
A deputy assisted the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office with traffic control on Highway 141 near Bayard after a traffic accident.
A deputy responded to a security alarm activation in the 2200 block of R Avenue. Everything was found to be in order and secure upon the deputy’s arrival.
A deputy was advised of a harassment complaint in Grand Junction. The female informed the deputy that she has received many voice mail calls from an unknown phone number wanting her to send money via a credit card. The female was advised to not correspond with the caller.
A deputy was dispatched to Churdan for the report of illegal fireworks.
Sunday, July 7th
A deputy was dispatched to the Casey’s store in Rippey for a reported burglary. Upon the deputy’s arrival he found the glass to the front door had been shattered. Entry was gained and it was determined by the store manager that beer and cigarettes were stolen. The theft is under investigation at this time.
A deputy was advised of a male walking in the 1200 block of 150th Street. The deputy arrived at that location and determined the identity of the male. He stated that he was walking to Carroll and did not need any help. A short time later the Churdan Rescue was called to help this individual with what was thought to be heat stroke. After the Churdan Rescue released the male he was transported to his residence in Jefferson by the deputy.
A deputy was dispatched to Scranton for an illegal parking complaint. The owner of the tractor was notified and the equipment was moved.
A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a call in the 300 block of North Wilson.
A deputy was dispatched to the 2400 block of 337th Street for an E-911 call relating to a possible domestic situation. The deputy helped both parties with finding an amicable resolution to the dispute.
A deputy was advised of an erratic and careless driver on Highway 30 near Grand Junction. The vehicle was not located by the deputy at that time.
A deputy was advised of a harassment complaint from a female in Grand Junction. The deputy is investigating the complaint at this time.
A deputy was dispatched to the Greene County Medical Center Emergency Room to assist with a court mandated committal.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
