The Greene County fair queen coronation ceremony is this Friday during the fair.

Another candidate hoping to be crowned this year’s fair queen is junior Kami Badger, who is the daughter of Brett and Jen Badger.

Kami is involved in 4-H, a local competition dance team, pep club, student council and captain of the high school cheerleading squad.  One of her achievements was being selected to serve on the state 4-H council and conducting a statewide conference which she says was a valuable experience.

“Well you get a lot of leadership because, we have to be able to lead our own groups, our own workshops (and) we have to be able to interact with the kids.  I have to be an ambassador too, so I have to go to other counties and talk about 4-H so I’ve grown in my communication skills and just communicating with other teens at conference was really helpful.”

Badger feels that she would make a great county fair queen because of her involvement in different organizations including 4-H that she could represent Greene County very well.

This year’s county fair queen will be announced during the coronation ceremony on Friday at 6:30pm at Clover Hall on the fairgrounds in Jefferson and the public is invited to attend.
