The Union Pacific Railroad informed the Greene County Law Enforcement Center of cattle grassing on their property near Highway 144 and 150th Street. The owner of the cattle was notified about the situation.

A deputy was asked and did check on the welfare of several young children in Grand Junction. The deputy responded and spoke with several neighbors in the area.

The dispatchers from the Greene County Law Enforcement Center received many E-911 calls from a cell phone in Scranton. Several deputies’ responded and determined that a five year old was playing with a deactivated cell phone that was still capable of dialing 911. The grandmother promptly removed the cell phone battery.

A deputy was advised of cattle on the roadway near Spring Lake. The cattle were not located upon the deputy’s arrival.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was advised of  a stolen vehicle from Calhoun County that could possibly be at Spring Lake Park. The car was located parked at the swimming area but the two suspects in the theft were not found in the park. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office along with several Greene County Conservation personnel assisted the Greene County Sheriff’s Office with the search and investigation.

A deputy was advised of an erratic and careless driver near Grand Junction on Highway 30. The deputy did locate the vehicle and determined the vehicle was not speeding or driving erratic at that time.

A deputy assisted the Churdan Fire and Rescue with a call in the 700 block of Hill Street in Churdan.

A deputy was advised of a harassment complaint pertaining to a phone call received by a person that now lives out of Iowa. These harassing calls are under investigation.

Personnel from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Greene County Sheriff’s Office converged on a residence in Grand Junction and subsequently arrested Zachary Michael Wailes of Breda, Iowa, and Josey Michael Wilson of Carroll, Iowa, on several outstanding warrants from Sac and Carroll counties. The recovered stolen vehicle  from Spring Lake Park earlier in the day is associated with this case.

Two Greene County Deputy’s arrested Patrick Ryan Thompson of Grand Junction for driving a motor vehicle while suspended.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
