Greene Co. SupervisorsThe Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday in regular session.

The Board approved the county treasurer’s semi-annual report of $13,772,605 in total revenues collected with an ending cash balance of $5,583,851.

The Board also approved the county sheriff’s fourth quarter report of fees.  It totaled $45,680. 58, which is up from $43,619.09 in the third quarter from January 1st through March 31st.  On the report, Grand Junction law enforcement accounted for the most fees with $10,471.47.

Sandy Scheuermann made a health insurance update to the Board.  She reported that the county’s current health insurance carrier, First Administrators, has closed its operations and will be merging with Wellmark BlueCross and BlueShield.  The Supervisors have until November 1st to decide to switch carriers or stay with Wellmark.

She told the Board that as of the end of June, the county paid $460,653 in claims out of the $579,048 that they are contracted for.  More good news is that the county is only at 70.79% in loss ratio to this point in the calendar year.  The county was $118,394.62 under budget.

Last year at this point, the county was under budget by $44,969.62

County Engineer Wade Weiss updated the Board on various road projects around the county.  He said that the patching projects north of Jefferson have been going along great.  Fort Dodge Asphalt is the company being used for road patchwork.
