The softball season for the Greene County Rams has been over for nearly two weeks, but two teams Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rams defeated during the 2013 season are playing consolation games today in the State Tournament. Greene County started the season with a 1-0 victory over Class 4A Denison-Schleswig and won 4-3 in 11 innings later in the season vs. Class 2A St. Edmond of Ft. Dodge. Both lost opening round contests at the State tourney being held north of Ft. Dodge at the Rogers Sports Complex and both play today. All of Wednesdays games are of the consolation variety. Today’s games will determined the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth place finishers in all five classes.
