With Gretchen Wilson singing ‘Here for the Party’ and ‘All Jacked Up’, things could have gotten a little out of hand at this year’s River Ruckus.

However, according to Sheriff Marty Arganbright, only a few arrests were made, “I had probably half a dozen arrests that were made that ended up in jail. Numerous juvenile under-age drinking arrests that we had enough help with and the State Patrol was there and he (Grant Sheeder) had his own security. So Friday night went well, Saturday night also went well. We had less arrests that came to jail Saturday night than Friday night.”

Arganbright credits that to better preparation this year than last, “We were prepared this year, having State Patrol there and Grant having his own security for the stage area and outside the gates, manning the gates, all went well.”

Several steps were taken way ahead of time to ensure that this year’s ‘fan-focused’ event would be safe and not disappoint.

There were 90 privately hired security personnel plus 24 state troopers as well as additional county reserve officers.

It just goes to show you, preparation is the key to a fun and safe River Ruckus.
