Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern informed the Board of Supervisors at yesterday’s meeting concerning potential federal funding to assist with bridge repairs.
Sebern stated that the Natural Resources Conservation Service informed him of potential funding through Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) program which helps to safeguard lives and property from floods and drought.
Sebern explained that the bridges in Guthrie County would be eligible as long as federal funds have not been used on the same bridge withing the last 10 years.
The bridges that would be affected are Nation’s Bridge, Dale City Bridge, and another bridge west of Dale City.
Sebern says in order to apply for the funding he needs a letter on the County’s letterhead and that it was a cost share request, with the county share being 20%. The Board approved typing up the letter.
