The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has released 2013 tentative volleyball classifications and Greene County is in Class 3A. This is the second season the IGHSAU has had five classes of volleyball programs with 5A being the largest enrollments and 1A the smallest. Greene County is tied with Anamosa for the twenty-first largest enrollment among the 64 volleyball programs in 3A. The Rams have an enrollment figure of 296 for the incoming sophomore, junior, and senior classes. Other Heart of Iowa Activities Conference schools also in 3A for volleyball and their enrollments are Nevada (302), Gilbert (300), North Polk (Alleman) (275), Roland-Story (Story City) (226), and PCM (Monroe) (222).

Saydel (Des Moines) has the largest HOIAC enrollment at 361 and the Eagles are the third smallest 4A volleyball program. CMB (Maxwell) (189), South Hamilton (Jewell) (169), Colfax-Mingo (162) are Heart of Iowa programs that are 2A in volleyball.

The first official practice date for volleyball teams in Iowa schools is Monday, August 12.
