Today is the third and final day of the Greene County football camp open to youngsters as young as third graders and as old as high school seniors. Head Coach Dean Lansman is the camp director. He said the first two days went well with around 125 participants.

The non-contact camp has different meanings depending on the age of the participants. Coach Lansman said the high school players are running plays in offensive groups while the middle school players are trying to learn a new offense. Those in grades three through six are being introduced to the fundamentals and rules of the game.

Once the camp ends there is no football activities for the high schoolers until Monday, August 12, the date official practice begins. Middle school students won’t be starting official practice until the first day of school, which is Wednesday, August 21 for Greene County.
