Perry sophomore outfielder Will Whiton was named an Iowa Newspaper Association 2nd Team All State selection Monday night.  Whiton led the 3A field with 41 stolen bases and was among the state’s best with a 495 batting average.  ADM senior Dylan Nelson was a 1st Team selection along with Boone 1b Brett Slight.  Dallas Center Grimes senior Jake Lewis was placed on the 2nd Team while ADM catcher Logan Essy was an Honorable Mention choice.

The Iowa Sports Spotlight recognized Whiton as a 2nd Team selection while both Essy and Nelson were placed on the 1st Team.  Nelson was named the 3A pitcher of the year.
