The Perry Bluejays are gearing up for another football season as they count down to kickoff August 30th with Greene County. In previous years, Perry had been able to take advantage of a few 7 on 7 camps across the state but this year’s busy schedule did not work out as Head Coach Jason Olenjzack tells us.

“We did not send kids to 7 on 7 camps this year because the majority of our kids played baseball. In a perfect world, yes, no doubt about it we would want to take advantage of these camps. But we also want our guys to play more than one sport and with the condensed down baseball season, there is simply no time to travel and get these camps in. Perry baseball coach Mike Long, basketball coach Ned Menke and myself work with each other’s schedule very well and want to see more of the multiple sport athlete in our hallways.”

The Bluejays invited several UNI Panther lineman down to Perry for a one day camp along with former Perry standout Kane Seeley and three of his current Iowa State teammates.
