Greene County High School junior Joe Doran is listed as a middle linebacker and running back turned wide receiver, but as he puts it, “I mainly focus on defense!” Doran lettered as a sophomore and saw quite a bit of action in the middle, to which he says, “I learned a lot. There was a lot of learning when I was out there.” He hopes to put what he learned to good use in 2013 as Greene County hopes to improve on its 4-6 record of a season ago. Of the possibilities of winning more games this fall, Doran told Raccoon Valley Radio, “I think we can win more games than last year. We have a lot of young kids out here, but they have just as much potential to be good as anyone. There were some games we should have won last year. All the position are looking good this year and everyone’s working hard, so it should be good.”
Doran and the Rams open the season on Friday, August 30 in Perry vs. the Blue Jays at Dewey Field in the Annual Battle of the Cowbell. That game will be broadcast on both KDLS 1310 AM and KGRA 98.9 FM.
