A deputy is investigating the theft of a pull behind motorcycle trailer that was stolen near 220th Street and W Avenue. The trailer was home built and has no vehicle identification number. The frame of the trailer is black with an aluminum diamond plated cargo box and equipped with air shocks.

A deputy was advised of cattle on the roadway near 140th Street and D Avenue. The owner of the cattle was contacted and responded to the area.

A deputy is helping the Department of Human Services with a reported child neglect case in Grand Junction. A two year old male was found wandering across a heavily traveled roadway by a resident that cared for the youth until the deputy arrived. The deputy did determine the residence of the youth and questioned the parent. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

A deputy was dispatched to Farlin for a minor backing accident. A 1995 Oldsmobile Ciera that is owned and was being  driven by Donald Francis Franey of Jefferson , was delivering mail in Farlin when he backed into a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier owned by Linda Kay Miller of Boone, Iowa. It was reported that the Franey vehicle sustained approximately $1500 in damages and the Miller vehicle $400 in damages. Donald Franey was issued a citation for unsafe backing.

A deputy was advised of a careless and erratic driver west of Grand Junction on 220th Street. The deputy was in another part of the county and was not in position to locate the vehicle.

A deputy assisted a motorist at 220th Street and Granite Avenue whose engine hood flipped open striking and breaking her windshield. The deputy helped secure the engine hood and the vehicle was able to continue on to Jefferson.

A deputy, the chief deputy sheriff and the sheriff all responded to a one vehicle rollover accident that had occurred on S Avenue just south of 290th Street. The Grand Junction Fire and Rescue, the Jefferson Fire Department and the Greene County Emergency Medical Services personnel also responded to the report of four occupants being in the vehicle. A 1997 Ford pickup truck that is owned and was being driven by Ivan Cordell Walker of Nevada, Iowa, was traveling westbound on 295th Street and failed to slow enough on the gravel to make the curve onto S Avenue. The pickup entered the steep ditch and then rolled once landing back onto its wheels in a pasture owned by John Muir. Three other passengers in the vehicle were Casey Jo Gustin of Ankeny, Iowa, Trayon Anthoney Wayne Binkley of Jefferson and Whitney Lynne Mikesell, address unknown. All four of the occupants in the truck were transported to the Greene County Medical Center for further evaluation and the later released. Only two of the young adults were reported to have minor injuries. Ivan Cordell Walker was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
