Tentative cross-country classifications have been released on the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union website and the numbers show Greene County with one of the largest enrollments among Class 2A programs. The smallest 3A programs have an enrollment figure of 302 for the purpose of classification while the Rams have an enrollment figure of 296. Spirit Lake, South Tama, and Gilbert are all at 300 and those schools sit atop 2A. Greene County is next, along with Anamosa, also at 296. Waukon has an enrollment number of 295 with Union (La Porte City) at 294, meaning only eight students separate the smallest 3A programs, Nevada and Shenandoah, from the seven largest in 2A.
