Gilbert High School officials notified Greene County High School on Tuesday that the scheduled coed cross-country meet for Thursday, August 29 has been cancelled. The meet was scheduled for the Iowa State University Course in Ames, but is not going to be held due to safety concerns for the athletes in the extremely hot and humid conditions Iowa is experiencing this week. The meet will not be made up. Next on the schedule for the Greene County cross-country teams is a Sept. 3 meet at the Dallas Center-Grimes High School west of Grimes.
