North Polk (Alleman) visits Linduska Field in Jefferson tonight in what is the first of five regular season home football games for the Rams. The Comets (1-0) rolled up 428 yards of offense last week in Alleman en route to a 35-33 victory against Bondurant-Farrar. The Rams (0-1) had just 62 yards of offense in the first half last Friday at Perry in falling behind 38-0 at the break. The Blue Jays won the season opener 45-14, but Greene County head coach Dean Lansman saw some positives, especially after halftime. “We made some adjustments, both offensively and defensively, which helped us have a better second half. We had a lot of young kids out there either in their first varsity starts, or first varsity action period. A number of sophomores started and that’s quite a jump going from the freshmen level to varsity football. We made progress in the second half last week and we’re anxious to see what kind of progress we can make tonight.”

The Comets and Rams play at ninth grade game at 4:45 p.m. with the varsity contest set for 7:30 p.m. Coverage on KG98 begins at 6:30 p.m.
