The sixth home building permit for 2013 was recently issued at Lake Panorama by the lake’s Association, and several more are expected to be issued in the months ahead.

Senior Administrative Assistant Randy Holl says the Association is encouraged to see properties finally turning over again after sales dipped during the economic recession

In 2011, only two home building permits were issued.  Holl says prior to that year, the fewest number of building permits issued was in the teens.  2012 saw a small comeback in the housing market at the lake, as eight home building permits were granted.

Holl says turnaround times for home sales have significantly increased over the past two years.  Homes that were formerly on the market for over a year are now selling in a matter of weeks or months.

As of September 3rd, a total of 30 building permits and 30 land disturbing permits had been issued by the Association for 2013.  These permits have been used by families to build such things as home additions, storage sheds and permanent docks.
