ADM head coach Mike Whisner said last week that if his defensive front could just get healthy, many of the week one issues against the run would dissipate. Boy was he right.

The Tigers welcomed back three-year letter winner Isaac Norton to the lineup on Friday night against Winterset, and the senior’s presence on the field was felt immediately.

Norton recorded 12 tackles, three of which went for losses, and sacked opposing quarterback Jacob Larsen three times in ADM’s 14-6 road victory.  The Tigers moved to 1-1 on the season and return home to Adel for their upcoming game this Friday against Glenwood.  ADM

Coming off off-season arthroscopic knee surgery, the ADM coaches weren’t sure how Norton would come out of the gate in his first action of the season.  But his name was called early and often Friday night, and he flat out dominated on the defensive side of the ball.

Norton entered the game with more than 100 tackles on his career… expect that number to keep climbing if teams don’t game plan away from the disruptive defensive end.

And coach Whisner will tell you, it’s nice to have him back.
