Boone defeated Perry in non district football Friday night 17-15 but there were plenty of positives for Perry to build upon.  The Jays fought back from a 14-0 second half deficit to take a 15-14 lead late in the 4th quarter before Boone marched it down the field and set up the game winning field goal with 33 seconds to go.  Will Whiton was 7-24 for 111 yards with 1 td and 1 interception.  Cavan Finn was 2-2 for 50 yards including a 4th quarter touchdown strike to Whiton.  Whiton led the rushing attack with 71 yards on 20 carries.  Perry managed only 83 yards of rushing offense.

“This was a good precursor for the following 6 weeks.  This type of physical, and rugged football is what we can expect over the next few weeks of district play in southwest Iowa,” said Perry Head Coach Jason Olenjzack.

Perry will play traditional power Harlan Friday night at Dewey Field.  KDLS 1310 will have the call.
