isu extensionThe Guthrie County Extension and Outreach Office is busy in the coming months.

Along with its “Money Talk” series starting at the end of September, the office is also beginning its “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” course in early October.  The course is designed to help anyone caring for an ill friend or family member.

The first class is currently set for Thursday, October 3rd from 3 to 5:30pm at Lakeside Village in Panora, and will meet every Thursday thereafter until November 7th.

Program Coordinator Mary Ebert says this particular course is one of the best that the Extension Office offers.

“This is one of my favorite courses to do through extension because it more or less helps you learn how to better deal with your stress, kind of improve your self-confidence and kind of balance your life.  There’s a lot of different things that we teach in the class that are crucial to have within any relationship in your life, whether it’s someone you care give for or if it’s your spouse or if it’s one of your children.”

Cost for the six-week course is $15.  To register, contact the Extension Office at 641-747-2276.
