Greene County played in its first volleyball tournament of the season on Sept. 14 when the Rams traveled to Eldora and took part in the South Hardin tournament. Coach Donna Carhill’s team went 3-3 in matches and 7-7 in games and they won the consolation bracket. The Rams played the host team twice and split two matches and four games, losing 9-21, 13-21, then winning 21-6, 21-19. The Rams defeated Colo-Nesco twice, winning 21-9, 22-20 the first time and 21-13, 19-21, 15-5 the second time. Greene County lost both games to Oelwein by scores of 16-21, 16-21, then lost two of three to undefeated Forest City 21-19, 16-21, 10-15. The Indians won the tournament and are 8-0 in matches and 19-4 in games.

The Rams are 4-3 in matches and 10-7 in games and travel to Story City on Tues., Sept. 17 to face Roland-Story in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play. The next home match for the Rams is Thursday, Sept. 19 vs. PCM (Monroe) in the middle school gym in Jefferson.
