Raccoon River Conference power Boone won the boys  division of the Ballard Invitational Monday night at the Ballard Cross Country Invitational.  The Torreadors finished with 41 points, Pella followed with a 44, Garner Hayfield third with a 114 and Perry 4th with 135.  Bluejay Junior Atem Akok led the way for Perry finishing 3rd with a time of 16:36.  Keegan Fowler placed 17th at 17:50, Oscar Chavez 30th at 18:25.  Christian Morales (18:50), Cole Chance (18:58), Zach Roberts (19:44) and Gerardo Rios (22:54) rounded out the Bluejay lineup.  Perry Head Coach wants to see more improvement from the four through seven runners.

“I would like to see more pack running from our bottom runners..those are key points for us right now.  Atem is in a class of his own, but our 2-8 runners could all compete with one another and do a little bit better job of pack running.  They will get there, you have to remember we have two 1st year cross country runners.  They will figure it out.”
