It was no surprise when members of the Perry football team nominated Michael Lansing as one of four captains representing this year’s Bluejay program.  “I thought all 4 guys were deserving, said the hard hitting Lansing, “Cavan, Seth, Will and myself have all put in a lot of time in the off season getting stronger and learning the offense to a higher level.  We we’re honored and will do all we can to lead the team.”

Lansing is a two way starter for coach Jason Olenjzack, playing guard on offense and middle linebacker on defense.  Lansing is second on the team with 35 tackles.  “My job at linebacker is like being the quarterback of the offense.  I have to make sure the safeties are in the right package and talk to my lineman up front and make sure they understand our scheme.  There is a lot of communicating that people probably don’t realize.  It’s great!”

Lansing and the Bluejays will travel to Glenwood this Friday night for a 7:30 kickoff with the Rams.   It will be homecoming weekend for Glenwood.
