Halloween falls on a Thursday this year, and unlike others in the past holiday festivities will take place on October 31st in Perry.

The City Council chose the actual date of Halloween at their most recent meeting.

There are several Halloween options for kids and families to participate in.  The Chamber of Commerce’s annual SPOOK-tacular will take place from 4-6pm in downtown Perry, offering safe trick-or-treating while showcasing local businesses.

The citywide Trick-or-Treat will follow from 6-8pm and Dallas County Hospital will again hold their Safe and Healthy Halloween event from 5-6:30pm.

Perry Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bob Wilson says Halloween is always a fun evening for kids of all ages and as a parent he says he appreciates the fact that it all happens on one night.

Everyone who is offering candy for trick-or-treaters is reminded to make sure their outside lights are on and motorists are also urged to be extra cautious as there will be children running around town Halloween night.
