Perry will look to get their first District 1 victory tonight when they travel to Creston to take on the 3-1 Panthers. Creston will be looking to bounce back after a heartbreaking last second loss to ADM last week. Perry Head Coach Jason Olenjzack feels a quick start is necessary for the Jays to have a chance.
“I think in high school football a quick start is almost a must. It seems like teams that jump out early at this level typically win the games. Its not like the NFL or college where there is always a big 3rd or 4th quarter push. One of our keys definately will be to get off to a better start tonight.”
Perry was shutout last week in the first half by Glenwood and scored only 7 the week before against Harlan in falling to the Cyclones. You can listen to tonight’s game on AM 1310 KDLS with Kurt Whiton at 7:30.
