The ADM Tigers’ road trip west to Council Bluffs didn’t go as well as they’d hoped it would last night. ADM fell 13-3 to the Lewis Central Titans in a game that was a defensive slugfest for much of the night.
The Tigers led 3-0 at halftime after Jacob Hutzell’s long 49-yard field goal soared between the uprights with just a few seconds left in the half. Neither team gained over 100 total yards in the first 24 minutes.
Lewis Central jumped ahead early in the third quarter when quarterback Austin Simmons connected on a 56-yard touchdown pass with go-to wide receiver Jake Rodgers. That touchdown turned out to be the difference as ADM couldn’t find the end zone in any of its three red zone trips in the 4th quarter.
The Tigers only managed to gain 247 yards from scrimmage against Lewis Central, far below their 391 yards per game average on the season.
The loss moves ADM into a tie for second in district play with a 1-1 record. The Tigers will look to get back on track next week in their homecoming game against Atlantic.
