The Dallas County Hospital Board of Trustees held their monthly meeting late last week.
According to the presented financial report, operating volumes were light in the month of August with margins trailing the budget but still positive year to date at 5.3% for operating and 7.1% for the total margin.
Next the board reviewed the quality report. DCH plans to participate in the Influenza Hospitalization Project through the state Department of Public Health again this year. This will allow the hospital to assess how severely the flu is impacting the area. Information on each patient will be collected through May 17th.
The Trustees then approved the purchase of an automatic chest compression system, a new surgical table, an endoscopic carpal tunnel release set and radiology interface and data housing software.
The next meeting will take place October 24th.
