Friday, September 27th

A deputy was dispatched to Highway 30 and 16th Street at Grand Junction for a reported two vehicle accident. A 2005 Ford Taurus that is owned by Dean Raymond Sayre of Jefferson and was being driven by Andrew Daniel Sayre also of Jefferson, was westbound on Highway 30 when an unknown vehicle suddenly began to slow down to make a left turn onto 16th Street in Grand Junction. The Sayre vehicle struck the rear of the unknown vehicle and that vehicle continued on into Grand Junction without stopping. Approximately $2000 in damages was sustained by the Sayre car and the other vehicle was never located. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued at this time.

A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a traffic stop and the subsequent arrest of Nathan William Merrill of Jefferson for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A deputy was advised of a brindle colored Dutch Shepherd that was possibly taken from a farm residence in the 1100 block of 170th Street.

A deputy was dispatched to the 2400 block of 210th Street for a reported harassment complaint.

A deputy assisted the Midland Power Cooperative with advising a patron that his electrical service would be terminated for nonpayment.

A deputy was advised of several mules running at large in the 600 block of West Main Street in Grand Junction. The owner soon arrived to retrieve the animals.

A deputy assisted a motorist at 220th Street and C Avenue that was experiencing mechanical problems with her vehicle.

A deputy helped a motorist with directions on how to proceed to Emmetsburg, Iowa.

A deputy while on routine patrol checked an unoccupied vehicle at 220th Street and R Avenue.

A deputy was advised that a Rippey resident would like for his residence to be checked several times during the night.

Saturday, September 28th

A deputy was advised by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office that a one vehicle accident was believed to have occurred in western Greene County. The deputy found the accident location but the vehicle had been removed. The accident is under investigation at this time.

Two deputies and a Jefferson Police Officer assisted a young man that had walked away from his grandmother’s residence in Jefferson and was unsure if he wanted to return. The seventeen year old male was given several different options and then he decided that he would return to his grandmothers.

A deputy checked the report of trespassing on Union Pacific Railroad property near 222nd Street and Parkland Avenue. The deputy spoke with the person about his vehicle being parked on railroad property and he agreed to move the car.

Sunday, September 29th

A deputy initiated a traffic stop at 130th Street and V Avenue and subsequently arrested Christi Lee Frazier of Boone, Iowa, for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A deputy was assisted by a Jefferson Police Officer in tacking a report of a possible assault that had occurred at a rural residence in Greene County. The male that was reportedly assaulted and several witnesses came to the Law Enforcement Center to file the complaint.

A deputy checked the report of a horse on the roadway in the 1600 block of 235th Street. A horse was reported missing from the horse show at the Greene County Fairgrounds.  The horse was not located by the deputy at that time.

A deputy checked the report of careless driving on Highway 30 near Grand Junction.  The vehicle was stopped by the deputy and the driver was questioned and later allowed to continue.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all  defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
