An upper division finish in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference and a winning season overall were among the goals for the Greene County volleyball team when the season began, and they still are. Coach Donna Carhill’s Rams are 9-6 in matches, 4-1 in the conference, and 24-19 in games. The Rams last played on Sept. 24 and they will next be in action on Oct. 1 at Class 3A sixth rated Nevada, the HOIAC leader.

The time off was well deserved after the Rams were one of the last high school programs in the state to start the season. Greene County played its first match on Sept. 12 and totaled 15 matches and 43 games through Sept. 24. The match at Nevada is the only one this week for the varsity.
