hunter safetyThe fall hunting season is quickly approaching and those who are interesting in purchasing a hunting license must first be certified in hunting safety.

Even though Greene County Conservation’s hunting safety course was in August, there is a new way for individuals to be certified.  County Conservation Director Dan Towers says people can now take the required courses online.

He describes where to go and why it’s a good idea to provide another way for people to be certified for hunting safety.

“Anyone over 18 years of age can take the entire class on the internet.  You don’t have to attend any field day which is a good thing for people that work and have trouble getting away and getting to the classes.  So it’s a good avenue for adults to get that hunter safety certification.”

Through the state Department of Natural Resource’s website, when you complete the course, you can print out the certificate and then apply for a hunter license at any county recorder’s office.

Anyone with questions can contact Towers at 386-5674.
