lake panoramaDue to the couple heavy rain showers the past week or so, Lake Panorama is almost back to normal pool level for this time of year.

Lake Panorama Association General Manager John Rutledge says the lake is only about an inch lower than it normally is compared to years past.  Rutledge says there shouldn’t be any problem for lake residents as they begin to take their boats out of the water in the weeks ahead.

“Earlier in the summer we cautioned boaters to be careful about that (taking boats out), because the lake was low and it was a drought condition.  But at this point in the year, we don’t see the evaporation that we see in August so I believe that people can expect a normal exit for the year.  Just keep an eye on it if you have a lift that doesn’t have a lot of leeway or a lot of travel on it so you don’t get caught by surprise.”

Rutledge says traffic on the lake has died down since the fall high school sports season began, but he encourages members to enjoy the last couple weekends of warm weather while they still can.

Rutledge says most residents will remove their boats for winterization by the first or second weekend of October.  He advises members planning to take their boats out these next few weekends to call the Marina at 641-755-2920 to see how busy they are so that boating exits are as safe and easy as possible.
