The Perry Chamber of Commerce continues to put their “incubator space” to good use now that a new business has moved into 1226 Second Avenue.

A grand opening ribbon cutting for Jeanette Loyd’s new massage therapy and sunless tanning business was held Friday.  Chamber Executive Director Bob Wilson says the incubator space offers a place for new businesses like Loyd’s to get off the ground.

“What we’re trying to do here is get up start businesses in there, we have a little reduced rent and we gradually increase that rent to market rate over time.  While doing that there are some mentors that we provide, or some outlets that we offer to get questions answered, sales tax, insurance, how do you structure this and that” says Wilson.

Wilson says the space is available to be utilized as a temporary space before the business can go out on its own.

Prior to Loyd’s business opening, the Spanish Learning Academy utilized the incubator space.  It since has moved to a new rental location a few doors down on 2nd Avenue.
