stuart pdAn update on a story you first heard about on Raccoon Valley Radio back in May.

20 year-old Hannah Elizabeth Reisinger of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, entered a guilty plea on Monday for her involvement in the May 20th robbery of the First State Bank in Stuart.

Reisinger and her co-defendant Wayne Palmer, also from Pennsylvania, were picked up on May 24th in Hollywood, California by a fugitive task force.  The Stuart Police Department was able to alert the task force of the couple’s whereabouts after finding them the day prior using GPS locators on their cell phones.

Reisinger recently agreed to be interviewed by Stuart PD, and in exchange for her willingness to testify truthfully against Palmer, the state of Iowa downgraded her charge to robbery in the second degree rather than robbery in the first.

After entering her guilty plea, Reisinger agreed to waive the use of a pre-sentence investigation and was immediately sentenced to 10 years in prison.  She must serve at least 7 years before being eligible for parole, and she and Palmer have been ordered to pay $3,194 in restitution to the First State Bank.

Reisinger’s father and mother were among those present in the courtroom for the guilty plea, and her father apologized on behalf of his family for all the harm his daughter has caused in the Stuart community.
