The Dallas County ISU Extension Office invites parents and youth to attend their upcoming skills building program.
The Strengthening Families Program is for kids between the ages of 10 and 14 and their parents. Over seven weeks, participants will learn how to build and maintain a positive relationship, prevent teen substance abuse and other behavior problems and strengthen parent and youth communication skills and problem solving.
There are two sessions in Dallas County starting next week. One in Perry on Monday evenings through November 18th and another on Sundays in Waukee.
The Perry class is free thanks to funding through the Perry community, while the Waukee program is $19.
Sessions take place in the evenings and include a free meal.
