Friday, October 4th

A deputy was advised of 24 head of cattle standing along the roadway in the 2300 block of 310th Street. The owner was notified and the cattle were placed back into the pasture.

A deputy and the Chief Deputy Sheriff assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with apprehending a juvenile male that had fled from the high school. The male student made threats to staff at the high school.

A deputy was dispatched to the 700 block of Hill Street in Churdan to help resolve a family dispute.

The Chief Deputy Sheriff checked the report of cruelty to cats in Scranton. The allegations were found to be unsubstantiated.

A deputy was advised of cattle grazing along highway 144 north of Dana. The cattle were not located upon the deputy’s arrival.

A deputy responded to an alarm activation at the Peoples Trust and Savings Bank in Grand Junction. The key holder was called and assisted the deputy in searching and determining the building was secure.

A deputy was advised and responded to a reckless driving complaint in Grand Junction. It was reported that a small white S-10 type pickup truck was driving through several homeowners’ yards. The truck was not located but the investigation is ongoing.

A deputy checked an abandoned E-911 call that was initiated from a residence in the 2400 block of 337th Street.

Saturday, October 5th

A deputy was asked to pick up a cat that had been caught in a live trap in Scranton.  The deputy released the cat in a rural location and returned the trap back to its owner.

A deputy checked the report of an open door at a residence in Rippey. The house was determined to be secure.

A deputy was advised of a parking complaint in Churdan. The deputy helped resolve the issue between neighbors.

A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with an accident that occurred at 103 West Lincolnway in Jefferson.

A deputy and the Churdan Fire and Rescue responded to the 600 block of Dudley Street in Churdan to help a female that had become trapped behind a washing machine that she was trying to move up a flight of stairs. The female indicated that she was not injured and refused medical attention at that time.

A deputy, the Chief Deputy Sheriff and the Sheriff responded to a trailer house fire at 1178 H Avenue. The Scranton Fire Department and the Jefferson Fire Department also responded to extinguish the fire. The trailer was reported to be under renovation at this time and no one was residing in the trailer. The structure was determined to be a total loss.

Sunday, October 6th

A deputy was dispatched to the report of a careless and erratic driver on Highway 30 (220th Street) just west of Grand Junction near the Hill Golf Course. When the deputy arrived on scene the vehicle was stopped in the ditch next to a corn field with an elderly male trying to exit his car. The deputy at that time determined the male was experiencing severe breathing problems. The Grand Junction Fire and Rescue and the Greene County Emergency Medical Services personnel were dispatched to the scene to provide medical help and to transport Theodore Fredrick Doggett of Ogden to the Greene County Medical Center emergency room for further treatment and evaluation. Hoffman Brothers Towing of Grand Junction removed the vehicle.

A deputy was advised of a theft that had occurred at a business in the 100 block of Main Street East in Grand Junction. The theft is under investigation at this time.

A deputy was dispatched to the 1600 block of T Avenue to check the report of trespassing.

A deputy was advised of motorcycles trespassing on private property in the 900 block of 222nd Street. The bikers were located and instructed to please be considerate of others property.

The Chief Deputy Sheriff responded to a second call of motorcycles or off road dirt bikes being ridden on Jordan Avenue. The motorcyclists were instructed not to be operating on a public roadway.

A deputy was dispatched to Paton to assist the Greene County Emergency medical services personnel in transporting a female that was experiencing difficulty in breathing to the Greene County Medical Center for further medical attention.

A deputy is investigating several harassing phone messages that was received by a Grand Junction resident.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all  defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
