A heads up to Perry area residents and McCreary Community Building users… the parking lot rehabilitation project begins today.

Initially planned to begin in the spring, the project includes a complete overhaul of the parking lot.

The company contracted to do the job, Jensen Builders out of Des Moines, was able to finish up some of their other fall projects and get the ball rolling on this one earlier than expected.

Which City Administrator Butch Niebuhr says should be good news for all.

There are two phases for the project and the one that is not being worked on will remain open for parking.

Community center users are asked to not move the fences or barricades and use caution when crews are working.

Since parking will be limited, the city asks that those who are able park on Pattee Street and walk to the building.

The project is expected to take around 6 weeks to complete.

Anyone with questions can call City Hall at 465-2481.
