Greene County High School students will have the opportunity to find out about the the county job market and the “working world” during a career fair tomorrow.

Greene County Chamber and Development Executive Director Ken Paxton says there will be four sections for all level of students as a informational and educational presentation.

The first panel discussion will involve entrepreneurs and small business groups to explain how someone can have success and the challenges of starting your own business.  The next presentation will be from Iowa Workforce Development and Region XII Council of Governments from Carroll about how to do interviews and create professional resumes.

The last two panels will be on the manufacturing and services that are currently provided here in Greene County.

Paxton talks about that goal for the career fair and the importance of having this opportunity for young people in the county.

“Prepare the kids to understand that there’s a lot of assets here in Greene County and a lot of opportunities.  We understand that if they want to go away to college, we sure would like to have them think about coming back and realize that there’s something to do here.  If they don’t want to go to college, there’s a lot of opportunities to go right out of high school into a good career option here in our county.”

He comments that this career fair is only for high school students and will take place during the school day tomorrow in the auditorium at the high school.
