ADMA fifth and sixth place finish respectively out of seven competing teams may not sound like great performances by ADM’s boys and girls cross country teams in the conference meet this past Monday, but that doesn’t bother head coach David Zwank.

Zwank says he was satisfied with his teams’ overall performance, and he’s happy with the effort his runners put forth.

Zwank highlighted a few individual runners’ performances in particular.

“We had some good performances, especially by getting some all-conference finishers with Josh Berger and Brianna Mueller so that’s always nice to see.  The other exciting thing was we had Luke Huen who won the JV boys’ race, so if you want to crown a JV champion, kinda nice to say that as well… A good way to start us into the end of the season stuff, and that’s what I usually view as the most fun and exciting part of the season anyway.”

Huen is just a freshman for the Tigers and Zwank says he’ll be expecting big things from the youngster in the years ahead.  Zwank also says he and his coaches will consider putting Huen into the varsity rotation for next Thursday’s district meet at Winterset.
