Chris QuirkA Jefferson suspect has been charged for multiple incidents.

Christopher Brian Quirk was involved in four cases.  Police Chief Dave Morlan says the 31 year-old is charged with two counts of third degree burglary and six counts of forgery, which is a Class D Felony from two investigations.

On September 23rd, Quirk was accused of stealing two tool boxes and 19 pairs of work boots from an unlocked Muir Embroidery delivery truck which led to a third degree burglary charge and on September 28th, Quirk allegedly stole six checks from Joan Stofer, age 83 of Jefferson, and forged bad checks to area businesses.

He wrote checks to Shopko for $90, Casey’s General Store for $45, Pizza Ranch for $52, Peony Restaurant for $44.24 and A&W Restaurant for $17.50.  Quirk is charged with third degree burglary and six counts of Class D Felony for forgery.

Chief Morlan explains that he’s happy with how the investigations went.

“We had four separate officers working the different charges on this and they all did a good job.  We were able to get the probable cause and put some charges together on it.”

He states that Quirk is already in the Greene County Jail for two unrelated charges of third degree burglary and remains held without a bond due to an unrelated probation violation.
