petsHalloween festivities are fast approaching, with the kids dressing up for their big Beggar’s Night and adults attending their costume parties, but what about those family pets?

Well on Saturday, October 26th, the Panora P.E.T.S. Animal Shelter is having its “Howloween” Annual Fundraiser, and organizer Mindy Kurtz encourages local residents to bring pets out in their best costumes.

The event begins at 11am on the main square in Panora, and will feature a costume contest for small and large breed pets, a goodie-bag raffle, and photography session for owners and their pets.  There will be a chili lunch served for $5 as well.

P.E.T.S. will have dogs and cats available for adoption, and interested owners can also have their pets microchipped for $15.

Kurtz says this is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the animal shelter and she asks the public for their continued support.  All proceeds from the event will go directly to the P.E.T.S. organization.
