Greene County junior lineman Alex Rasmussen is a second year starter up front for the Rams and he told Raccoon Valley Radio he likes the progress made by the linemen. “I think we’ve come a long way from the beginning of the year and things are starting to come together. The holes are starting to open and our backs are doing a good job of running the ball.” Sophomore quarterback Daric Whipple has completed more than 52 percent of his passing this season, to which Rasmussen said, “We changed our pass blocking schemes and Daric usually has a nice pocket. We’ve made progress there, too.”

The Rams (3-4, 2-2) host Clarinda Academy (0-7, 0-5) at Linduska Field in Jefferson on Oct. 18 in the last scheduled home game of the season. A Greene County win would keep the Rams in position for a playoff berth and even keep hopes alive for finishing as high as second place in Class 2A District 8.

Coverage on KG98 starts at 6 p.m. Friday with kickoff at 7 p.m.
