Just as ADM head coach David Zwank thought they would be, Josh Berger and Brianna Mueller are state cross country qualifiers.

Both qualified as individuals for the state cross country meet after finishing in the top-10 of the boys and girls races at Thursday’s district run in Winterset.

Berger placed 5th overall in the boys’ 5k, finishing in 17:20.  The Tigers’ boys team finished 8th out of 12 competing teams in the district.  ADM’s Kyle Ferguson, Scott Clabough and Trevor Danner all finished in the upper half of Thursday’s race individually, but the Tigers were unable to qualify as a team.

Over on the girls’ side, Brianna Mueller placed 6th in the 4k with a time of 15:11.  She was just 40 seconds behind meet winner Abby Kohut-Jackson of Ballard.  As a team, the ADM girls finished 11th out of 13 competing teams.

Mueller and Berger’s state race will be Saturday, November 2nd at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge.  Mueller will run in the girls’ 3-A race at noon, with Burger taking off a half hour later in the 3-A boys competition.
