The Perry Jayettes lost to Boone Monday night in 4A Region 5 volleyball 25-16, 25-13, 25-14. The turning point of the match came late in the first set when Boone rattled off 9 straight points to win 25-16. The game was back and forth up until that point. The Torreadors followed with a 7-0 outburst to start game 2 with 3 ace serves coming from Carrie Overland. Mariah McPartland led the way with 15 kills. Perry’s Maggie Lowe had a Jayette high 5 kills. Victoria Hegstrom added 4 kills. Perry closes out the season with a record of 7-31, and 0-7 in the RRC. They graduate 2 seniors with Julie Dew and Tori Minor playing their final games. 1st year Head Coach Veronica Roshek was pleased with her team’s performance. “Honestly, I thought this was the best we played all season. We came out and battled and never gave up. Our young team was improving each and every night and I thought they showed it tonight.”
Boone will travel to WEbster City Thursday for a Regional Semifinal.
